We support blind and partially sighted people of all ages across Wales to develop their employability skills and apply for work.
Our specialist employment service provides support to blind and partially sighted people across Wales.
Employment support we offer
Our employment advisor works with individuals of all abilities to help them find a job or stay in work. We will do this via telephone and email so wherever you are in Wales, we can help. To read more about the ways in which we can help please see our new employment services leaflet.
Our employment advisor also holds an employment hub in our Cardiff office on Wednesday afternoons that all clients are able to attend and through our Big Lottery Project we hold employment days across Wales throughout the year.
We also organise work placements for young people aged 14 to 25 and ensure that organisations and employers are able to offer meaningful work experience placements for blind and partially sighted people across a wide range of jobs. To date we have worked with the Police, health spas, call centres and many more to arrange work placements for young people.
Publications we offer
We have publications that offer advice to school leavers.
Bridging The Gap is a fully accessible transitions guide that outlines the support available in school, college, university, and work.
This Is Learning and Working in Wales is a publication for those considering employment, and employers thinking about recruiting and retaining blind and partially sighted staff. Find out more about these publications and download copies from Transition from education to employment.
